Computer Specification

Hey All,

For university, my assignment is to build from scratch a computer based on a client brief, then write a justification as to why i have chose certain components like the processor etc.. As well as supplying a list of the software and other peripherals like printers etc that I think would be most suited!

My brief is:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Client A - is a freelance photographer who wants to do word processing, surfing the internet and storing, editing, printing her many digital photographs. She also has some photographs from her film camera which she would like to store on the computer. As a business, she has to keep a record of her business expenses and earnings and file a tax return every year. She has a friend who lost all her PC data when her hard-disk failed and she does not want the same thing to happen to her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone got any suggestions?

I'm curious, what University course would want you to do such an assignment? is it an IT degree you're doing?

External HDD is a good idea, but what if the client forgets to create a backup? A hardware/software raid system with more than one internal drive would be a good idea.
