What course of action would you setup for downsizing mass amounts of files?

Right now I got an action setup but have to hit F5 and save as after each photo.... (i am downsizing for web view), but now I gotta downsize 900 files.

I am thinking automate but I have never used this. Any links to tutorials?

Definitely don't do it manually. The time you spend to learn how to automate the process will be less and you'll actually have acquired a new skill.

You can adjust the batch actions in Photoshop so that they also include your Save As... command(s).

That way, you have a biscuit while Photoshop does the work.

Or a three course lunch and an afternoon nap - 900 pix will take quite a while. Just make sure all your files have legal names and extensions, otherwise PS will stop and wait for you to correct the situation and that's no fun if you leave it to run overnight but it stops at Image #30.

you may need automater to change file names afterwards, and do a test run on 3-4 files first

Send a message via Skype™ to JonoMarshall
I'd make a droplet, then you can process more images later (if needed).

This is the process I used, but I couldn't figure out how to batch and auto save as, required me to hit enter everytime (i just layed a bottle of water on the enter key)
