Which digital slr?
Hey folks, Looking around for a digital slr but a bit unsure of which one to go for. I've narrowed it down to the Olympus E410 or the Canon EOS400D. Anyone got any opinions, prefrences or recommendations? cheers |

a lot of experience with various canons. had a film slr, and 4 different digi compacts, and they've all been fab. to be honest, if you're looking for an alternative to the canon, why aren't you looking at the equivalent nikon? oh... but always remember not to chop and change the make you use..... there is no point in using a nikon camera for 10 yrs then moving to canon... it'l take you an un-necessary amount of time to get up to speed with the new style! |

for dslr, the only reasonable options are canon or nikon. if you are new to photography, the canon 350 / 400 or nikon equiv is a good bet. scale upwards according to experience. i'd say 350 over 400 just because, imo the 400 doesn't provide much worth the price hike. you can get a 350 pretty cheap now since its an older model. the biggest difference is the extra 2 mp but seriously, going from 8 to 10 won't show that much of a difference unless you are blowing up mega-huge. save the money and put it toward a quality lens. with dslrs, the glass you use matters more then the body. |

Yeah, i agree with .sleep, but i've got the 400d and I've used the 350d, and i find the much bigger screen worth the extra £££. When i go back to a 350d i find it a nightmare trying to review my pics.. So i'd say go for the 400D, plus the 350D has a weird tactile coming which marks easy. anyway.. my 2 cents.. |
