Loaded fine for moi...

At first the design struck me as a bit outdated, but then I noticed how the design fits in with the sepia tone used in most of the photography. Some cool stuff there for sure...

- its pretty slow for me on 56k.

The design of the site is not amazing but it does fit in with the photos well, it was just the tone of the site that struck me. Very gothic and dark and the writing is done well.

Along the same lines as g-a-t-e's Missile base are the Paris Catacombs
http://triggur.org/cata/

I saw a programme about them a few years ago nd it has fasinated me from there. No i'm not a Gothic grundge head - just your average Joe, but there something about having huundreds of miles of tunnels running under a major city filled with millions of corpses that nobody knows about. makes you wonder whats under your city and I dont mean the sewers and the underground.

Here's more if you're interested:

night time shots of abandoned diners, drive-in cinemas, military bases etc. Stunning photography and effects. The "Story" section is worth a read too - the guy behind the site is having a book of this lot published at the end of the month - can't wait!

I dont own a very exspensive, very high quality camera. So at time for certain designs where I need to find a good photo the only thing I can do is search the web.

but saying that I havent leeched anyones work since I started designing.

use a free stock photo site - never just 'pinch' images from the web. How would you feel if someone did that to your photo ?

Have you got any good links for these free stock photosites?

btw all photos I have ever taken are totally urecognisable after I have finished with them, I have never claimed someone elses work for my own...EVER!

eg.

in this image the very top right hand side was a gas mask, but it was only used for a lighting effect.

But the screenies I took myself.
