Shwizle, you went in the completely wrong direction! And those new lighting conditions are very ominous - that yellow-green light usually means extremely violent weather is imminent.

I'd have made the most of the slight blue in the original and emphasized that, and tried to remove some of the yellow from the light source (is it a reflection of the sun on water?) which would make a nice reddish contrast with the rest of the pic.

It's obvious from the lack of shadows that the photo was taken at dusk, so making it light like in your second version gives it a very fake unconvincing appearance.

But it's an interesting experiment - keep at it! I can't see any new texture, but it really doesn't need any more - the original already has three good contrasting ones.

PS - Where was the photo taken? Looks northern European...
