iPhone Launch
I went to the iPhone launch at the AT&T where I live (Toledo, OH). I was surprised how many people actually showed up. Here's a link to a set of photos I took while in line and in the store with the iPhone. daburu.org/Images/index[dot]php?path=iphonelaunch/ |

It never ceases to amaze me how people slavishly follow Apple like its some kind of religion. It used to be bad back in the day, but in the past few years its been getting worse. It's like some kind of mass brainwashing. If they sold Steve's Jobs' shit wrapped in plastic, there would be a queue. |

they have a fantastic marketing department and they understand that we are in a design savvy world nowadays... if i want well designed clothes, cars, watches, etc... why does my computer has to look like a plastic brick and my phone look like someone banded it together with shit he found from a skip. it gives a lot of people meaning to their pointless lives.... |

You couldn't have said it better. My friends and I were the only "geeks" in line who just wanted to see it. Everyone else was in this pissed off "I better get an iPhone" mood the whole time. Not to mention the mom who looked like she was a bout to cry when the AT&T employee told her that her daughter wasn't allowed to sign her own contract because she wasn't eighteen. The other sad part, the majority of the people in the line didn't even know what it was/did, they had to ask employees filling out survey sheets. Kind of upsetting when you see who has all of the money in the world. |

Yea, would be nice like that but.. - It will have lots of buggs - it doesn't have GPS - it still runs on the old GSM network while other phones are changing over to the 3G network - the internet is slow because of the network it runs on - you can't use mp3's as ringtones - you can't send picture messages - you can't take out the battery And those were just things I took of the top of my head :p I think if I'm getting a new phone, I'm getting the Helio Ocean phone |

FWIW, I don't have one and am not planning on a purchase anytime soon. I just like discussing the pros and cons of the brick-phone. fun: HGC v.4 | last.fm: DT | me | oi! f*ck u roto: ...via meebo!
