I ran across that recently and thought what a pig's dinner the end result is.
The idea behind air-brushing is to remove blemishes - not to make the model look like a plastic dummy. No professional would ever let anything so artificial-looking go to print, that's for sure.
That said, the tutorial shows a technique - fair enough.

Unless it's porn, of course.

and it's shaved about 6 years off her age to suddenly transform her into jailbait!

C'mon...be honest, now. If this was possible in reality, you'd load her up in Photoshop and do it without blinking.

If I wanted a woman without skin pores, I'd put a gas mask on her.

There's a difference between skin pores and the Martian surface!

The result here is awful.

There are two types of airbrushing in my book.

i) The kind you know is airbrushed but looks good because it suits the house style. Just pick up a copy of Playboy and you'll see some great work.

ii) The type that enhances the image without being noticeable. It just enhances what nature already gave the model, or gets rid of that annoying pimple that the make-up artist couldn't quite conceal.

This tutorial doesn't really achieve either.

...except making her look like a porn whore (which makes some people a lot of money).

I'm glad everyone still likes this make-your-own-porn-photo tute.

I was checking out the tutorial and thought that it was out to a good start, but yea... the final just went way too far.
