Nikon D50 Problem
I never noticed a problem with it over the past year, however the last few months the auto-focus hasn't been working. It makes a stupid little squeaking noise, as if its straining to take the photo. I've tried resetting all settings back to default without any luck. There is no auto-focus indicator coming on within the viewfinder. Hopfully its just my error here and not the camera itself. I have never been able to take close-ups simply because it never focuses properly. cheers |

I had similar problems with a D70 I had. It did not like my older Nikon lenses that I had used with my F4. Not sure how strong the D50 auto focus motors are but I'd say that once you rule out that its not the camera, you could try one the new Auto Focus assist lenses that have their own drives built in. They are super fast as well. Pricey investment but they will be a perfect combo if you ever upgrade to a newer body. Hope this helps. |
