I am looking to buy a digital camera for under $300.00 and wanted to know what you think would take the best pictures? I dont care about the size of the camera. (ultra-compact is not a concern)

try some photography blogs - such as...

there is plenty to choose from and the info is more up to date

Hi,

If you can track down a DSLR fr that money -do it. You may be luck with a second hand canon EOS or Nikon on ebay.

Otherwise, pentax compacts are good as are most of the newer canons.
