Urban Decay - New theme (May 2008 Photo competition)

Okay it's decided.

The theme is: URBAN DECAY (changed from ugly people).

Rules (originally set by Forever I think)
  • The picture you send in must apply
to the actual theme that is announced in the topic.
    Other pictures will not compete.
  • You can only send in one picture that will compete
with the others, so decide carefully which one you will use.
  • Please take NOTICE that this is not a PHOTOSHOP contest.
So try to leave as much filters out.
  • All pictures taken, must be taken from your own camera
by yourself. If you use any kind of filter, of course this must be
a legal one (camera-option), not photoshopped.
  • Please resize the width of your pictures to 700 pixels or less
since this does not affect the layout of this forum.
  • All images must be shot within the Month of the Competition.

Post your contributions in this thread until May 31st, 2008.

The winner of the competition gets to propose the next theme.

Good luck, all!

Are there any legalities to consider here?

If you photograph someone without their permission and display it here under the heading 'Ugly People' if they were to discover the pic do they have grounds for legal action?

Just curious?

If that person is in a public place they can be legally photographed without permission - calling them ugly maybe slander though

i have actually been considering trying for this one.. was thinking of looking at the way people act/things people do.. rather that physical appearance.

probably never get around to it though.

I'm having trouble with the subject. It's not that there aren't ugly people around but that I have trouble with posting a pic of them calling them ugly. Lens wise I've got a 50mm, 28-135mm and a 70-300mm (which I highly recommend for the price) so I could get some shots without people knowing but would still take issue with posting it in such a category. I really fancy a 10-22mm sometime soon. Alternatively considering a 17-85mm as a walkaround and selling the 28-135. It'll mean less crossover but I really do like the 28-135 as a walkaround lens. Now I'm really rambling on about lenses, move along.

I'm up for that

Too bad I couldn't set that poll properly, so we can have somebody to test our new pitchforks on...
