How about:

Listening to Justin Timberlake shouldn't even be considered listening to music.

I understand now. ( I think). You should still never listen to Justin Timberlake tho - the reason I mentioned the cheeky little chappy, is that my local on friday night employs this gimp of a DJ. The guy doesnt even mix / play vinyls or cds , he has a laptop on top of his decks and plays mp3s. These usually include a Justin Timberlake song at some stage.

With Timberland and N.E.R.D. producing, what's not to like!?

Have I just admitted out loud to liking Justin Timberlake!?

While the JT album is not the kind of stuff I add to my CD collection, I feel no shame at all in saying that there are some cracking tracks on their with some great production.

More power to ya smallbeer if you do like Timberlake. Being down on pop (even pop/RnB) is less to do with taste than it is to do with (following) fashion.

There is no 'fact' about it, just opinion

Bollocks. Look music up in the dictionary. It's supposed to be an artform expressed through sound. Getting some gimps to dance to a cover of an old song with a housebeat put behind it is not an artform.

I repeat... in your opinion

but if you really need it to be thrust home...

Quote:

music [n.]
{1.} The sounds produced by singers or musical instruments (or reproductions of such sounds).
{2.} An artistic form of auditory communication incorporating instrumental or vocal tones in a structured and continuous manner.
{3.} Any agreeable (pleasing and harmonious) sounds; "he fell asleep to the music of the wind chimes"; {<SYN.>} euphony.

Whilst I may not find most pop "agreeable" or "pleasing" there are a great number amongst the record buying public who feel otherwise about their favourite pop(ulist) bands.

Again, I repeat, it's all a matter of preference, not fact.
You have every right to have an opinion about mainstream pop, but you'd waste less of your time and effort if you simply learned to acknowledge it as an opinion - nothing more, nothing less.

You just like to argue.

The Cheeky Girls are shit. Fact. I don't care what you say. They are unquestionably a pair of twats.

Just because it's opinion doesn't mean it can't also be correct. You'd side with someone arguing that Colchester United are better than Man United - because that's their opinion and they've a right to hold it. Thing is - they're wrong. Just like the teenie boppers who think pop is great. At least they'll grow out of it.
