What do you listen to whilst designing/working

I listen to a lot of metal kind of stuff, as well as daft punk kind of stuff when i'm at work, keeps me motivated, and my foot tapping.

low key bkgd music - shins, aqualung, postal service, coldplay, ambulance ltd, streaming video of live obama rallies. what?

or i'll hum super loud and off key to annoy the lady near me who insists on listening to teleconferences on speaker.

"shins"

Good choice.
2nd album was a bit meh, but 1st and 3rd never gather much dust with me.

"aqualung, postal service,"
tip of the hat to those choices too.

Lately, it's been 'soulful house' on t'last.fm player.
Probably the onset of a premature mid-life crisis.

More usually, instrumental nonsense such as Rachel's or modern/post classical, 'cause I'm proper cultured, me.

Usually some sort of anti-folk stuff, Sufjan, Akron/Family, Joanna Newsom, CFTPA and as of today Friendly Fires and Chad VanGaalen. Soemtimes get some dubstep on if i'm working very very late.

i cant stand D&B, same with Dub Step

you cant really listen to those types of music unless you're rocking out on the dance floor consumed by any number of questionable substances

Today I was listening to The Hold Steady a whole bunch.

Yesterday 'twas the Shins, Aqualung and The Postal Service.

I listen to a wide range of stuff when I'm working, from speed metal (such as Devil Driver) to ambient/soft electronica (such as Bitcrush and Keef Baker) and all comers in between. It depends on my mood.

I'm really into 60's - 70's easy listening at the moment. I really enjoy the peculiar nature of these records, you never know what you are going to get.
