I had no idea Thievery Corp were still doing their own stuff - thought they'd disappeared into the void of producing and remixing. The Mirror Conspiracy is a top album - esp Lebanese Blonde. |

Lol... it probably is... it's like a pussified version of punk... :P I just like the riffs and rythms they use... they sound really good... and it's more singing, unlike the punk-ish screaming... :P How much longer before you click on my link?

Always ever-changing; lately I've been into: Beastie Boys, The In Sound From Way Out Frank Zappa, "St. Etienne" The Police, Message In A Box: The Complete Recordings I don't often listen to music while I'm actually designing, but the influence of whatever I've been listening to is still present nonetheless. 'Never Never Land' (I actually thought it was due out on the 9th July) I've been giving it some playtime over the past month and it isn't much cop, imho. Mind you, Psyence Fiction took a little while to creep up on me. I was wondering what all the fuss was about when I first heard it (PF), but it wasn't long before I came to recognise it as one of the stongest debut albums I'd ever heard. Never Never Land isn't growing on me, despite a few playings. The tracks are all competant enough, but none of them really leapt out at me. It suffers alot from the absence of Shadow, imho. The same album could have been put out by Underworld (+ guests) and no-one would have questioned it (not a good thing in my book as I look at Underworld as a spent force). |
