Now playing: Latest in a series of musical postcards from a designer/dj friend in the fatherland 28 mins into the mix and she slips in a track that blows me away and I think to myself - "what the f*ck is this? and where the f*ck can I get it?. Turns out it's All My Love from Rod and is available on the Vestibule & Separate: Cottage Industries 3 compilation on Neo Ouija. (makes mental note to self to buy this album) I haven't listened to anything this electronic based for a while, but f*ck me, if they haven't gone and thrown hammond organs and rhodes pianos along with the soft, synthetic intermittent singing over the top of the deep, slow basslines. Works. Really works. Slow, gentle, melancholy, electronic grooves… utter, utter bliss. Next two tracks Real Nudies by Bronze Age Fox and Sorry, But We Don't Hear You by Kettel are both crackers too. Respectively more folky and piano-based than the Rod track, but this is Fu at work and she knows what she's doing… |
