You know you're getting older when you really want to slap people who hear this album and say - "Isn't that the Coolio/Will Smith/…/… track?" When you hear this album, it reminds you just how dependant hip-hip/rap is on 'proper' songwriters like Stevie Wonder. Songs In the Key of Life is one of the very best albums ever made*, though 'Isn't She Lovely' could do with being 2 minutes shorter*. Do you have the edition with the bonus EP? (Easy Goin' Evening, Ebony Eyes, All Day Sucker, Saturn) |

Do you have the edition with the bonus EP? Unfortunately not, Will try to get it when I next go to a record fair. George Michael has also used a couple of Stevie's greats. Did a good job of them though, it must be said. 'Masterblaster' is from 'Hotter Than July' (also got a hearing last night). One of the first digital recordings (1980). Another great album. He had such a great run in the 70's. Once when Paul Simon won an award for one of his albums, he did the usual thanking everybody, but made a special thank you to Stevie for NOT making an album that year! Sean |

damien rice - now there's a chap who should have gone the joni route and got some really *good* musicians to *guest* on his album. he just sounds a bit too david gray. some contemporary jazz musicians would have made me listen to that album more than once. don't think i'll re-visit it. |

Evanescence - Fallen (album) Was curious about the album after hearing the singles. I actually think Bring Me To Life is a cracking track. The album's all a bit samey, but... One thing though - I'm a sucker for a gal with a voice and this gal's voice is, to put it bluntly, horny++ *. (sad, but true) |

I was listening to Toto last night until the early hours. Every song sounds like it should be from a Rocky or Karate Kid film. Quality. That's fuckin' ingenious, if I understand it correctly. It's a Swiss fuckin' watch.
