I liked The Streets when I first heard it (or him, I should say) I take it we're talking about 'Original Pirate Material'? After 20 or so listens, I got a bit tired of the 'geezer, geezer' stuff. Rarely gets a look in now. At the moment I'm listening to 'Pet Sounds' (Lord knows why). Next I can feel Tom Wait's 'Swordfishtrombones' coming to the fore. 'Franks Wild Years' is one of the funniest songs ever Sean PS, And - what's 4 hero's other stuff like. I like most of 'Two Pages' but haven't heard much else. Because it's one of the best albums of all time Quote:
Creating Patterns is a great album, very different from 'Two Pages', it has a little bit more soul in my opinion. |

I was refering to the album, which has the same name. I'm not saying I don't like it, I just don't listen to it much now. Some great stuff, very inventive. Quote:
'Pet Sounds' is of course a classic. Quite often gets voted Best Album of all time. That's probably a bit over the top in my opinion but still gets regular playing at my place. The Beach Boys also made some good music in the seventies which often gets overlooked in favour of all the surf stuff. Sean |

You should track down some of their first/early stuff. Check out Mr Kirk and see where they started. Bit of a leap and Creating Patterns shows how mch they've matured from their breakbeat (read: 'original' jungle) days. Aah, halcyon days indeed going nut-nut in Brighton while some nosebleed breakbeats were busy cookin' up your brain. Still have sh*tloads of the stuff on vinyl, but (perhaps understandably) rarely gets a look-in nowadays. Quote:
You've just inspired me to dust off Air's 'Moon Safari' which of course contains Remember, which of course sampled the drum track from The Beach Boys' 'Do It Again'. Tangents. Don't ya love 'em. |

Back to me again! Ralph Myerz and the Jack Herron Band - I just can't stop playing it!. and The Futureheads - hot shit punk! That's fuckin' ingenious, if I understand it correctly. It's a Swiss fuckin' watch.
