Brain Jonestown Massacre - Thank God For Mental Illness

I had avoided this for so long I guess because the cover repelled me and I didn't really like their attitude too much on the other couple albums I picked up.

Well, wow, that was a big mistake. This is the best music I've heard in a long, long time. Way better than anything else of theirs I've heard.

yeh they are pretty good, Bravery Repetition and Noise is also a good one, you used to be able to download all of their albums for free off the site, but it seems its changed....

You ever see the documentary on them and the Dandy Warhol's.. If you have you know Anton Newcombe is out of his fucking skull, they had to give him is own recording studio because he refused to work with anyone. He literally recorded almost everything that came to his head, and a lot of rubbish can result from that, This is one of the better albums they did, that and Take It From The Man, other than that I really don't care for much of their other music, I'd prefer to stick to 60's psych.

Yup, I saw that. His general demeanor sucks, but that's never stopped people from making great music. Most musicians are oblivious self-absorbed idiots to a certain extent. He just happens to go further than most.

I've heard a bunch of their stuff over the years and nothing really impressed me like this particular album. Although I like some of the other stuff alright, this one is killin'!

I saw these guys in Portsmouth. Anton fell off the stage and then hurled abuse at the crowd.

"i earn 200 Euros at minute and you fucking live in a council house"

was what he said.

They're playing here on the 25th. I have never seen them live and have no desire to see them, either. I would've probably liked to have seen Dandy Warhols once, though.
