Despite a hefty hangover I went to a record fair today and picked up a few gems:

"Trilogue Live" Jaco again, Albert Mangelsdorff, Alphonse Mouzon Live in Berlin 1976 (LP)
"New Chautauqua" - Pat Metheney Acoustic set from 1979 (LP)
"Tupelo Honey" - Van Morrison 1972 (LP)
"Songs In The Key Of Life" - Stevie Wonder, with the bonus EP (got it at last) (LP)
"Boomer's Story" - Ry Cooder (LP)
"Jazz" - Ry Cooder (LP)
"The Struggle" - Sheila Chandra (not sure if this is a gem yet, haven't played it) (LP)
"Gateway 2" - John Abercrombie, Dave Holland, Jack Dejohnette (LP)
"Can't Ignore the Train" - 10,000 Maniacs LP)
"Whatever For Us" - Joan Armatrading (it was cheap) (LP)

All in superb condition. I'm happy today.

Update: The Sheila Chandra is NOT a gem. Suffers badly from 80's drum machines and synthesized hand claps. The rest are pure class

A worth addition to anyone's collection.
Got a copy of complete, mint copies (+ the 2xCD for out and about)

I've had it on CD for ages but I needed the EP. Also mint, and only cost me 8 Euros. Can't actually play the EP yet because it has a huge hole in the middle so I need an adapter.

Just out of curiosity…

Do you find Isn't She Lovely to be a touch over-long?
I appreciate that he's gushing about his daughter, but that groove has been drawn out a bit too long, imho™.

It's my only (minor) niggle about an album that is widely acknowledged as one of the best albums ever released.

S'been a while, so think I may have to give it a whirl today.

Yes, it is the one with Ditmus. At the moment I prefer the Live in Berlin. Do you have that? Not sure if it was released on CD ever. I will transfer it to disc one day when I get my new computer.

The Pat Metheney is good, worth buying.

The Dave Holland etc. is also worth picking up, John Abercrombie's playing style is rather like Metheney in some ways.

The Ry Cooders are excellent too. Something about the recording and playing that makes you think the band are playing live in your living room. Another of his I would recommend is 'Chicken Skin Music'.

Bill, 'Isn't she Lovely' does go on a bit but it's OK by me. I have a daughter too so I appreciate the sentiments (enough of that Sean, you soft git).

One LP I nearly went for (one more beer inside of me and I would have done!) was an original mono release of Dylan's 'Blonde On Blonde' - one of my favourite albums ever. €30 was a good price but I just held back.
