As mentioned elsewhere, I'm finally going to see Radiohead in May. I also just picked up Dave Matthews Band tix for July. You know, for the hippies.

RADIOHEAD TONIGHT!!! FUCK YEAH!!!
(Sorry, roto is excited. So excited, in fact, he's referring to himself in the 3rd person and using ugly bold text)

I posted that back in December. I just got home from Nightwish and I have to say it was by FAR the best show I've ever been to. The band was so into it, each member had their own personality, they were completely down-to-earth and not stuck-up like many of the shows I've recently been to. They played an excellent encore, talked Hockey to the crowd (and in Canada that's a sure-fire way to win the crowd over) and played their music so tight it was incredible.

HIGHLY recommend seeing them. Not many others bands out there like 'em.

You seen Inward Eye? I think they're from the 'Peg and exceptionally talented. I *believe* that's their name anyway.

I got Mars Volta next weekend, Matt Good, Glow in the Dark tour, and She Wants Revenge in June and then Pemberton Festival (Nine Inch Nails!!!!) in July and Radiohead here in Van in August. Should be a fantastic summer

Really? Have you seen a better performance before?

I am gonna seem them in Hackney next month. Maybe it's good to hear they weren't spot on so I don't get to high an expectation of them.

I talked to buzz about this on last.fm, but I just didn't dig the scope of what they played. There was too much In Rainbows and not enough OK Computer/The Bends. Call me old-school, but I would have taken either of those albums cover-to-cover before 1 song of In Rainbows.

Here's the setlist, you let me know what you think:

Radiohead | 5/5/08 | Cruzan Rum Amphitheater

MAIN SET
All I Need (In Rainbows)
Bodysnatchers (In Rainbows)
There There (Hail To The Thief)
Reckoner (In Rainbows)
The Gloaming (Hail To The Thief)
Morning Bell (Kid A)
Nude (In Rainbows)
How to Disappear Completely (Kid A)
15 Steps (In Rainbows)
Weird Fishes/Arpeggi (In Rainbows)
Idioteque (Kid A)
Bulletproof….I Wish I Was (The Bends)
Where I End and You Begin (Hail To The Thief)
Airbag (Limited EP Airbag/How Am I Driving?)
Everything In It's Right Place (Kid A)
National Anthem (Kid A)
Videotape (In Rainbows)

FIRST ENCORE
Optimistic (Kid A)
Just (The Bends)
Faust Arp (In Rainbows
Exit Music (OK Computer)
Bangers & Mash (In Rainbows Disc 2)

SECOND ENCORE
House of Cards (In Rainbows)
Street Spirit (The Bends)

The reason I say MORE BENDS was b/c Bulletproof and Just were SO FUCKING GOOD -- and ONE SONG from OK Computer just doesn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, Mitch, they are fantastic performers, and their stage/lighting is amazing. I just wanted more of the albums that are classics for me.

Hopefully, they'll be back in another 6 years.

sounds like the old scenario ...
fans want the greatest hits, but the band wanna plug their latest album.

Roger Waters was cool - played Dark Side of The Moon in its entirety for the second half of the gig ... but I'm sure he's fucking sick of doing it.

The only unrecognisable new song he played in the set was probably the one he was most enthusiastic about - but it was shit. Nobody cares about the new stuff ... just give us the favourites.
