tricky, you are really limiting yourself there with paypal. Can you not use a Maestro card or something?

Download iTunes (it's free), then if you want to buy music, go to iTunes Store. They have all kinds of music there. Enjoy

Yes iTunes I have tried and is crap. Just want an MP3 I can put straight on my daughters phone.

Never done the music scanner software thing for fear of cyber pirates on the inbound.

The Paypal preference an attempt to protect my cc details.

Who is reputable then otherwise?

Good music shops that I use are the following,

BLEEP - High Quality Music Downloads from Bleep.com
Boomkat - Your independent music specialist
www.beatport.com

although they don't stock mainstream music that your daughter might be after, for that you could try the google-backed www.gbox.com.

Thanks HK for the offer. Dusteh, yes the gbox looks good. Weldo I might drop you a line when I know what she wants.

Now can anyone source me anything clean and green, not too heavy on the psychosis?

I really like itunes. Can't fault it at all. Why do some of you guys think it's crap? What doesn't it do that you'd like it to do?

I tunes is great if you have an ipod. Is awful if you have MP3 player and want to get the tunes out. MP4 won't play on anyhting I have. Seems you have to burn to CD first and process back to MP3?

320kpbs mp3s for a start. FLAC would be nice.

no - check your iTunes settings ...

and make sure your imported files are auto converted to mp3 !!!

edit > preferences > advanced > importing

then its a piece of piss to just copy and paste yer files onto any non-apple player !!

Pah!! Why are we talking about paying for MP3s, musicians get paid way too much money (well the ones that are mainsteam enough to be on itunes anyway)!!
