Yes, gBox looks like it will be about 30 cents cheaper per DRM track and give the record labels more control over pricing. Most of the labels are crapping themselves about Apple's continuing dominance of online music sales, in particular Universal who weren't happy with Apple taking control of pricing on their music: Universal to Offer DRM-Free Music BBC - 6 Music - No deal for iTunes BBC NEWS | Business | Universal 'to revise iTunes deal' |

The website looks fuckin gash, its terrible. I'm actually angry thinking about how much googles in-house term are earning with that as the end result. Its also annoying. Why would I want to pick itunes-style mp3s? Is this to cater for the thick market? People who wouldn't dare use the shop unless they feel certain it will support their ipod? Why does the information section not explain the bitrate of the mp3s? Why is there no FLAC? Piss Poor. |

I'm down with buying digital music EXCEPT when being soundtracks. Is there anyone left with me who loves to go to the record store, browse for a while(even knowing what you're going for and know exactly where it is)... then going for it. After that buying and get home excited, open the CD, and play it while checking out inserts, art, liner notes? COME ON! |

The only time I have downloaded from iTunes is when I have won a song via some random business empires promo's. Downloading is a different area, I have no problem downloading, say the new mega group album, they have enough cash and won't miss it, however when it comes to a up and coming musician's if I like most of the stuff I have heard I buy the album.... christ Morrisons sell new chart CD's for £7!! |
