exporting flash animation as mov at 59.94 fps
I wanted to see if anyone knows of a way to export a flash animation as a mov file at 59.94 fps successfully? Or does anyone know of a good work around that will still allow me to retain great picture quality? This is an animation that was done for a Cinemedia ad and they need the animation to be at 59.94 fps, but every time I export directly out of flash at 59.94 fps the resulting file is a file that is 43 seconds long as opposed to the 30 second long one that I need. Also on playback the animation doesn't run smoothly, it'll run briefly ok and then sometimes get stuck at a part and then skip a number of frames to play another part. Any help that anyone is able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Jeff |

Below is where you can go to view the flash file. Like I mentioned earlier any help would be greatly appreciated as I've been racking my brain over this for the past day and a half. I was able to successfully export a mov file at 30fps but because 59.94 is a higher frame rate I've run into issues on export. londonsart.com/speedymovers.fla |

So I just exported my flash animation on another computer with the export settings set at Animation, 59.94 fps and it exported fine. However when I opened it up in QT Pro and looked at the Show Movie Inspector it states that the movie FPS and the playing FPS are at 16.7 FPS. So is the animation actually at 59.94 fps or is it only 16.7 fps? I really need to make sure it is at 59.94 for the company that I need to submit it to. |

socreative- thanks for the response. Is it still considered uncompressed if you publish a swf and then bring it into AE and export out of there? I was able to get it to export out of AE as well at 59.93 fps, unfortunately on my end on playback it would jump around and not play smoothly. Do you happen to have any other thoughts? Jeff |

i think for best result you need to set the JPEG export quality in Flash to 100% My MOV was a bit stuttering on the playback, i thought it was because i was on a laptop, hdd light was flashing like mad. I hate quicktime player anyway Why do you actually need it in 60fps? is 29.97 not enough ? |

This is a Cinemedia ad that will be running in the movie theater's here. For whatever reason they require it at 59.94 fps. I've never had to do anything higher than 30 fps and I really don't understand why I should have to, but that is one of their requirements so I'm just trying to make it work. I know that the company works in AE but all that I have to really work with is Flash at work so I've been trying to make it work using some of the programs I have at home without having any of the stuttering. I know that there are issues with Flash itself trying to export at 59.94 fps but I was hoping there is a workaround. Like I've mentioned before I exported a mov file directly out of flash at 59.94 fps successfully but when I open it up in QT it and view the movie inspector it states that it is at 16.7 fps so I'm not sure which one it really is. I do appreciate your help on this. |
