Saving in After Effects

Running AE on my laptop so when I want to render something as a draft I really can't seem to find any good options.

A lot of the time when I render the videos have glitches every 10 seconds or so.

Anyone have any good tips for just doing quick low-q render?

Enabled the proxies and got a very smooth finish, thanks a bunch.

Also, does anyone know any good compression programs, or at least some good guides on getting a decent compressed outcome from AE.

i always render uncompressed (either animation or 10bit depending on if i'm using footage or not) and deal with it after the fact in compressor tbh

Yeah I was planning on that, but are there any compressor you would recommend?

i actually use 'compressor' (part of the FCP suite) most of the time, since i have it available

if you're on windows, getting SUPER and the ffshow codecs is a good option

did you try to change the resolution settings in the outpout panel settings to third or quarter, you could also save a "ram preview" with the skip images option enable.
Hope that it could help you
