Want to stream a quicktime movie...
Well I am a little new to website design. Just looking for a resource or an idea how to start this. I want to stream quicktime movies on our company's production web page. I would like to have where somebody clicks on a picture link of a video of their choice, and that opens up quicktime where the movie is played, just like apples trailers site. You will have to goto the quicktime site yourself since i am unable to link anything just yet. The reason for this is our videos tend to be rather large, and to be able to give visitors options on size would help us. As well as organizing the page, being that our vids aspect ratios are different, as well as the sizes. I know how to hint quicktime movies and everything, and set them up to stream to a page, but not to send them to the quicktime app and stream them. Any help would be great! Love the amount of info at this site as well. Been very useful to me so far! Drew |

QuickTime Streaming would only provide an advantage if the length of each of your videos was over say 15 minutes. Anything shorter should be progressive download, either as a .mov/mp4 or a .flv as Web-Designer suggested. I use QuickTime for artofthetitle.com since it offers very high quality with low CPU usage (compared to Flash.) |
