after effects help

i have imported several hundred shapes from illustrator into AE
what i want to do is to generate random movement,opacity, size and position
for all these shapes.

does anyone know how i can do this? im sure ive done it before but i cant remember how

I believe you can use the wiggle function. I'll have to fire up my other machine as its been awhile since I've used it. What version are you using and is it a professional version?

yes all the shapes are unique. im using 6.5
the wiggler doesnt work on the shapes.
i want them all to move around and change and then settle into an image

Are you sure about that? It would take a while but you should be able to apply the wiggler to various attributes of a shape. You should be able to set the original start point and the endpoint of each shape then apply the wiggler in between. Again you would have to do this one shape/attribute at a time. Other wise I think you might have to animate it frame by frame
