after effects

Anybody know of any decent tutorials which show you how to lighten up a video clip real good?

What i'm looking for is something similar to the 'lighten' blending mode in photoshop.

either go to curves (effect>adjust>curves)

or if you want to play with the brightness and contrast you can find those settings in effect menu as well (effect>adjust>brightness & contrast)

also - many of the same blending modes are available in After effects as photoshop. These can be found in the timeline to the right of your layer (press F4 if you can't see them to toggle)
the blending modes are there under 'mode' click on 'normal' to access the dropdown list.
