http://www.zaxwerks.com Invigorator by Zaxwerks is a good plug-in. It's used to make all the animated 3d logos on tv eg. CNN Dead easy as well cos it converts flat vectors into 3d objects ::: TC Magazine :::

Hi Mik, You could use After Effects with Final Cut, sure. It won't work as well as it does with Premiere, but it'll get the job done. Just export your footage in the format you want and you'll be able to import it for editing. Some of the plugins mentioned are good, some aren't. The Trapcode suite is good, but most of the plugins do very specific things and aren't that versatile. It's also very expensive. I've got all of them and the only one I use regularly is Particular. Magic bullet doesn't do much After Effects can't do itself, it just does it with fewer clicks and less learning. Which sounds great until you realise that if you use it all the time you won't know how to use After Effects. Zaxwerks is utterly, utterly horrible and belongs in the 90s with all the shiny chrome logos it's ever produced. And anyway, most of its functions are now bundled with AE. Video Copilot do some good ones. Optical Flares is cheap and excellent. Probably the best fun plugin I know is Kronos, which is the one used to make super slowmo shots from normal footage. It's actually really useful day to day, but it makes any shot incredibly dramatic. Other than that, make sure you install the CyCore plugins which come with AE. They're actually some of the best. You should have them if you bought a legit copy. You did, right? Bottom line: the plugins for AE are good. But it's much more important to learn how to use AE itself. All the plugins in the world won't stop your projects from sucking if you don't learn how to pace, compose and lay out your shots. |

I knew I should have deleted cacagolf's post at the same time I banned him. This is what happens when bots regurgitate old threads - some fucking know-all jumps in. No disrespect, niggle dear. Tip: Steve is always right. —Bishop
