logo advice please

hey there,

been working on a logo and cant seem to get it right, haven't designed many logos, love designing them but I'm just stuck in a rut with this one. I know its not looking great at the mo and don't know what to do with it. The 'real' is just for placement, will be a different font and perhaps colour. Not totally happy with the 'food' yet either...something's not sitting right with it.

Would appreciate some fresh eyes on it and a bit of constructive criticism/tips.

cheers

The 'food' part looks nice. Would be interesting to see how you're going to fit in that 'real' part...

I also quite liked the food part. I think the only way you'll get it finished is to start on the real part.

What everyone else has said really, although my only thought on the food part might be that the shapes might need more intertwining, or at least more variety, I start to see three o's as they all do very similar things (might not add/improve anything but might be worth a tinker)

cheers for all the feedback, I see what you mean about the 'o's Maerk, I was going for symmetry but perhaps thats in contradiction to the organic, hand drawn feel.
Bara, did you mean try putting the real inside the leaf? might be nice, I'll play around with it. Definitely have to just get stuck into the 'real' part to get it finished.

new version - feedback welcomed

I've done a bit of work with the 'real' part. I'd like the logo to work with or without the '.ie' too...I think its well balanced either way...Any feedback welcomed

cheers

Well, I think the logo looks very refreshing and relevant to your industry but still it misses the modern and innovative spark.

Why don't you try any of the logo trends of 2009 and see if any element helps you make it look more better.

Shut up.

Your advice is be a trend whore and look generic to 2009? ACE.

Yeah never go with a trend, it will soon make the logo look dated and you'll have to redo it.

I agree with Juice, make the R more readable.

also, what are those characters after "food?"

cool thanks,

well it goes to show that not everyone will know what .ie means. Especially if you're appealing to a wider audience. Something to keep in mind as you design it.

It's fairly obvious in the context of a url, but a .ie registered site will inevitably be aimed at an Irish audience where .ie is not just common, but the norm.

The green is very fresh. Good work. Yes I'd make that r- more readable.

All best,
