Hi everyone, i did a bunch of options for a company that sells various mac software, mostly for dvd recompression (but not restricted to that) their name is interesting, meta means: beyond, transcending, more comprehensive, and kine for energy, motion, acceleration

So far i like some of the options

Which one do you like and which one i should scrap? brutal honesty please, ohh yeah i'm on DT, mmm go on nevermind.

The logo bits of 1 5 and 9 are interesting. Don't especially like any of the type though. The type in 6 and 9 are least bad! I'd like a bigger contrast between the parts of the word, if there has to be a contrast.

I already knew what Meta means, but can you explain the kine? Did you know it's the old plural word for cows?

I'm sure you could do hundreds more, they all look like logo stock.

IMHO, most of it will look like crap if printed, you should focus on black simple shapes, and try to add color when the design is done.

You should also try to keep things legible.

M and K are 2 shapes that work well together, you could look that way

I like the way the K sits under the M in 7 and 8, it also starts to look like a crown which helps with remembering the kine/king (good association) of the company name. But 7 and 8 overall aren't doing it for me (and fail to show motion, transcending-ness, etc)?

The executions are very slick, but not really my thing. 2 and 5 kept my interest the most in a visual sense? Hmm.

ahah yeah i know i checked before, kine is old english for a herd of cows. but i doubt the majority of people will look for it in an online dictionnary. Actually its for kinetic.

Its mostly a web based logo, no packaging for now, maybe business card

I agree the type needs reworking, the little spike in "in" in 6-8-9 was part of their older logo, they wanted to see it, maybe have to come with another option

If the font are really crap maybe you can suggest some that could work?

Bit harsh, but i asked for brutal honesty, what can i expect? but its true maybe i should focus on the letter mk, because they really want a distinction between the 2 words. so maybe maybe incorporate that in the logo.

I like number 4. It's clear and easy to read.

I don't really like the fonts used in the others, except maybe 10 (looks better in white than blue gradient, like 7).

Where are they getting the definition of 'kine' from? All my dictionaries tell me it's an archaic plural for cow.

The 'MK' thing in 7 and 8 is dangerously close to the MK Dons logo. Working in Milton Keynes I've seen a lot of 'MK' things which really don't work, so it'd be good to see someone do something good with it.

I like the little device in 9. I agree with the other guy, they look slick and all, not really my thing though. I quite like the font in 8. If the device in 5 was simplified a little I think it could work quite well.

For ars, mmm i dont know, your directory looks a bit shady, your headers says x number of services but when i go inside there is no one, or a few of of them...

Maybe lose the the google ads and improving your design would help? it really looks like a parking domain...

Personally, I like 5 as well ... but it does like a moustachio. Perhaps rework that design into something less Dennis Eckersley.
