brand I.D Draft (comments wanted)
My friend is starting a consulting service for people in my hometown of hinsdale for the publics technological needs. He asked me to design a logo for him, so before I show him my rough draft, i wanted some opinions from people on this forum. |

The J is hard to spot, definitely looks like an ACS logo when viewing the thumbnail. Once you know that the J is there then the fact that J & A are joined and C & S are joined makes it read funny - like JA CS. I can see what -brain is saying as well, could see this on an AC unit. As far as advice as to how to make it more modern... sorry dude, that's what you're being paid for on this one. Try a few more concepts. |

I missed the J aswell. You should really offer 3/4 drafts to give the client a choice and develop it from there. You've got more chance of him picking one of a selection of ideas - rather than you turning up and hoping he likes just that one. Have a look around at some logo techniques, in terms of joining letters. Do some sketches initially - don't waste you time doing the initial draft straight onscreen. I always start with a few sketches to get the brain ticking over. And if i'm stuck for ideas I get the pencil and paper out and doodle away for 15 mins, then back to the screen to make the ideas come alive! Sometimes you'll stumble across an idea by chance. Try a different colour for the icon and a different colour for the text. |
