Clean and mature does equate no grads and no shadows. Just because it was flat single or two colour with no effects doesn't make its very crude look any good. It isn't one rule for "poofs" thanks btw very charming reference to designers, it's simply that we know about typography and logo design and you clearly don't yet and everyone here before they gave up and decided you were having a laugh, were genuinely trying to push you in the right direction. Your last identity I saw anyway was indeed free of random extra effects, and well done, you shouldn't add such stuff to an identity. But the identity was still really really crude and unpolished. For reference when I say polish I refer not to making it shiny or reflective, but crafting its details so it's refined and of a high quality. But repost up the last version then, maybe I was mistaken, but the last one I saw posted looked like you'd painted it in MS Paint with a mouse. It certainly didn't look like it was a font, but from your reaction, it sounds like it should be some clean and simple type, so lets see it. To repeat myself, once again in the hope of you getting this, it isn't one rule for us and one rule for developers, unfortunately its the same rule for BOTH of us - the design should be good, and logo design isn't your area of expertise any more than developing a site would be for me. Wayne, I can tell that your a legitimate designer. You're relying on that popular "brutal honesty". |
