As a newcomer looking for a place to give and receive professional design critique, I've found that this thread is just one of many aimless, unprofessional series of insults toward the initial poster and to one another. In that light, my post was both an appropriate and highly acute critique. |

I can't find it in myself to be offended by such a blatantly British remark. |

You came to the internet searching for professionalism? I'll add that the thread isn't useless. It's fucking hilarious. Quote:
I suppose you enjoy more subtlety in your Britishness, right? |

Sometimes in life we expect the world to stop, just for one second and pay us the attention we think we deserve, or in this instance somebody to appreciate the hard work and great lengths we have gone to. This wont happen here, as designers we are all brutaly honest. When in doubt start again and filter through the crap you will see most people on here know their stuff, it would pay to stop being defensive and read. as for........ Quote:

Is there something particularly special about being a designer that gives license for this "brutal honesty"? Obviously not. If anything, the sheer plague-like number of designers in the "industry" should compel any one particular designer to be humble. I'm a designer, and a large of what makes me a professional is giving calm, clear and polite information my clients and colleagues. There's no excuse for being an asshole, be it on the internet or otherwise. ...unless you're British of course. |

Nice of you to try and be civil west, but the design is very poor. No need to beat around the bush... depending on the bush, of course. Wayne - You need to open up your self to the world a bit - that's a very agrophobic attempt at a logo - A book I recommend: a smile in the mind. - see what can be achieved with some craft and intellect. |

Whoa, hang on a minute there cowboy. Shit design is shit design, whether you're 'British', Korean or Icelandic. This forum is all about brutal honesty, and you will usually find it is injected with some humour and/or sarcasm. You don't come on the internet for calm, clear and polite information. You may be surprised and receive it sometimes, but more likely than not people will take the piss if your designs are poor. Lighten up a bit. |
