A logo for a photographer
Hya all, I hope I'm not being a pain with my 3 new threads when I still have 10 posts only. I am really trying hard to get into things fast. A friend of mine wanted to register a trade mark and asked me to help him make the logo for it. It's just for the fun of it. He doesn't do anything professionally. At least not yet. An eventual business, will be oriented towards photography, design. We both had the idea of the logo being simple as the name itself. The name is - note Since I haven't had a lot of experience in logo design (only 3 logos), I am seeking your advice. Is it too simple? Is it too ordinary? I am open towards criticism. P.S. this is my first design that I have posted in a forum. Be gentle. Thanks. |

Yeah, I think it's too simple. And we just had a geometric font used for a logo where the letters were joined up about two weeks ago. Either it's a trend or the Seventies are back. I think you could get artistic with the word NOTE and set PHOTOGRAPHY in a simple sans serif type for contrast. NOTE on its own would then act as an independent logo. Try to work out a design in simple black&white first. When it looks attractive and balanced, you can then introduce some color - if you have to. My free fonts www.utfi.net

No, it isn't a problem. The point about logos is that they don't actually need to be legible. If it were merely a shape, it wouldn't be legible at all but it would still be a logo. Wherever this logo is used, there'll always be other text near by which makes it quite clear that the name of the firm is note photography. It doesn't require a lot of imagination to "see" the letters in the logo after that. I think this is distinctive enough to be memorable too so after a while, no other associated text would be even necessary. I like this newer one a lot and I hope your photographer friend does too. That would be the obvious solution - just search Google Image for several hundred versions! My free fonts www.utfi.net

When I saw the logo I saw "ROTE" and not "NOTE". Reminds me of a logo that a friend of mine made for a photographer: ![]() bite design/graphic design consultants/cork/ireland: Kster Photography logo Maybe you could explore some other avenues to make it a more memorable logo. I like the colours that you've used though. |

I think you need add more character and "Photo" elements of this logo. I did not see much on your design. |
