I like #7, it's clean and straightforward.

2 has the best logo, I reckon. It's the sort of bold clean design I always prefer. 7 isn't bad, but it's a bit "Made in Taiwan 1981". The sort of thing cheapskate CEOs draw with a ruler in 10 minutes for their company logo and think they're clever to save paying a graphic artist!
All the type is fucked except for 5 & 6, which are just bland. The ascenderless (cyrillic) K is especially horrible.
I know the brief said "sterile, mechanical and heartless", but you should rebel a bit! If you proffer something superb, the client will be delighted in any case! How many logo suggestions do you intend showing the client? Not more than three, I hope. Two good ones and one crap.

Are these any good to help nudge the thought processes along a different route?

Fonts: MonoAlphabet (Manfred Klein), Santiako (Uusimaa Type Foundry), Yanone Kaffeesazt Light, Share Tech Mono.

I reckon the last one might be the sort of thing you're after...

From yours I'd say 5,6 and 7... but I really like the treatment of the letter form from SteveB as below?

Perhaps take it a little further and combine with 7? I suppose there's a danger of being a bit 80s.

Given your original description of your aims, perhaps 5 & 6 are your best bet?

I loike the second symbol steve, Ill give it a spin. Regarding the type I will bastardize some poor fecker. Will probably show about 5-6 versions to the client -she is a really reasonable one, plus she is cute!

I like #2 the most. It's awesome. I like a logo with an idea + good looks. Maybe just the type. I am not good enough to criticize a professional's work.

I like the number 2, of first image posted. I also like the one that has the "route" concept, it's "bold", but the line need a little more weight in it.

If anyone´s iinterested it got sorted to this:

Based on a soviet-era puzzle game me and my client used to have. The circly thingie is intentionally abit flopped - you had to turn and rotate the puzzle itself.

Is this bloody logo still not ready?!

Good thing you explained about the logo - I was trying to make it into and L and a P. I know how you love creating demanding typographic tests on your graphic work.

That said, I think it's fuckin' lovely!

Class, perhaps that L should centre on the end of the downward spiral?
