Motorcycle apparel logo

Hello people, I'm in the process of launching an apparel company focusing on sportbike culture specifically the street riders and the privateer motorcycle racer. I'm not a graphic designer and don't pretend to be. I have hired someone to create a logo for me in typeset without a symbol. The name of the company is "TORKUE" yes with a K not a Q. I wouldlove suggestions on what direction you may think this should go. I will post samples of his work for critique as I get them. Any help would be great! thank you

While torque is pronounced tork, you'll find that most people pronounce torkue as tor-koo. It thus loses the reference you were trying to make. A better option might be TORK or TORKE.

Good luck with the logo thing anyway.

You'd love Finnish, then. Quote: "Ainakin kymmenen kuljettajaa joutui tekemään äkkinäisiä väistöliikeitä ja jarrutuksia välttääkseen kengurukolarin."

I do graphic design/illustration and dedicated trackrider/minibike racer.
Teknic worked for me, but not so sure about TORKUE.
Are you going to use your typeset as a logo or symbol like Alpinestars?
If you consider focusing on gear than apparel, symbol would fit better.
That's just my opinion...

I had the same first thought as Paddy. Instinctively, the your inner voice doesn't pronounce Torkue as Torque on first sight. I'd say that's enough to reconsider. Torke, Torq, Tawk, Tork -you need something which embodies the sound.

I feel bad to say this.
But, isn't it a little too long?
When you think about motorcycle apparel/gear names, non of them has more than one word (Dainese, Alpinestars, Teknic, Icon, Venson, Spidi, Komodo, Kobe.... ).
Beside, "THREE MILE MINUTE" sounds more like drag race than road race.

I would suggest something more shorter and characteristic.

"Ryder"
"MotoTek"
