something about the way the text fits into the box is not feeling correct to me, try giving it matte proportions, make the bottom of the box drop a little lower than the top and sides.

OR...try losing the box and letting the color strips rest on the ascenders of the K and L....just a thought. The idea is good and i like the color you have there.

I tried both of those ideas.

I will think about the the matte proportions. If I use this logo, I will try to see which spacing looks better on the web design I will make.

I don't really like te way the color strips look on the ascenders.

Thanks for the feedback.

hey man its your design for your studio...whatever feels best to you is the way you should go, you don't need other people to tell you whats good and whats bad, it is what it is.

the only other problems i could potentially see are loss of quality on the bars once you scale it down small enough(maybe make the bottom one as long as the box so they have more say in the space?) and the shape that they make at the tip by changing their origin point of their rotation is funny to my eye.

Also if you really want to get nit-picky your type has a lot of kerning issues to be dealt with. The letters KOLO have too much space, and the words in RATION kind of pair up so optically its like RA TI ON. very small details but still important. It just seems to me this is more of an idea and there is a lot more time that needs to be spent on it? If i'm incorrect then I hope I don't make you mad.

the colour bars don't flow very well to my eye. they unevenly shunt down the logo.

the black bold serif face in a heavy key-line box is.. well.. OK if a street sign/official stamp look is what you are after. but the kerning needs attention as p.A said.

Yeah, its more in the concept stage now, just general stuff before fine tuning it. I haven't done any kerning/spacing adjustments.

We need something like a concept forum where people can post things that are just in the idea phase, not an actual finished piece or something.

Scaling is an issue, it doesn't look good small. I could experiment with changing line widths at a different rate as the text when it gets smaller, but that would be inconvenient for anyone (including me) that wants to resize it.

To the last 5 posters, I might scrap it, dunno yet.
