freelance logo, could use some critique

Just looking for some feedback, you can site it in use at http://www.astheria.com

Anything that should be changed? I haven't done any printing for it yet so I'm hoping to square it away before I need anymore stationary. I'm open to anything really, but I feel it should reflect that I design and code, rather than one or the other; and I'm not particularly fond of web 2.0 cliche.

http://flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=198311028&size=o

is an example of normal logo's with web 2.0 stylings.

Thanks for the compliments. Any other thoughts?

For more comments you may want to do mockups, for stationery, business card. This will give some context.

I think it's very nice, its simple clear and doesn't boggle the mind.

As D856C *cries* why you pick that name? :P said would try mocking it up on other formats, you'll need to try it on white (or another paler colour if you intend to use other colours) and in single colour to get a feel for how durable it is and how it'll work in other contexts.

Here's an on white, on dark grey, and a black/white. I'll putz around and make some stationary later tonight.

If it is for a personal portfolio, perhaps it may be best just to use your real name?

I'd still be using it for letterhead, business card, etc. I'd love to use my name but any domain with semblance to it has been taken, this lets me use the domain I've had for a while and that people know to check.

I like it too generally but I think you should create also HTML version. I am not keen on using much flash animation everywhere. You can also split the portfolio. Web and print separately.

not the right type for "astheria".
have you tried one with more elegant serifs or even a sans-serif?

There's no Flash anywhere on the site.

It's all javascript (and the site is fully accessible with it disabled). I get that... a lot. XD

Sorry for the delay folks, had a bunch of coursework to take care of and hopefully an internship come this week. I'll have the stationary up asap.

asariyski, thanks for that feedback, my only problem with it is that "the portfolio of kyle meyer" only appears on the website. :/
