i wouldnt be happy with those either. yikes! Anyway, id choose no.2 because the first one looks like to long for my liking. The spacing around the letters in the 2nd one is consistent. Dont like the thin letters on no. 1. I'd take the 'publishing' word from concept 1 and put it on 2. |

Sit your client down and discuss the logos, don't tell them they are bad but show examples of other logos in the market, suggest alternatives - at no point belittle their opinions or try to force an opinion on them - if you can do that they will change their mind and you design something halfway decent because if you use one of those you are doing the industry a dis-service |
