My vote goes to Travis. Probably because I love the Avant-garde typeface. Thin Lizzy's is quite cool though!

depends if you mean solely from a design point of view or not.

for it's iconic status i'd probably go for the rolling stones lips ...

other than the ancients such as (the already mentioned) thin lizzy, acdc, kiss etc the only ones that spring to mind are the ones I remember doodling all over my school books - neds atomic dustin could take a whole lesson, p.w.e.i., NIN.

Verry true. It's making a comeback on Tshirts now, as is the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin (that's a cool logo!) in places like Bakers. Ridiculously priced at somthing like £40!!

Actually not as I remember it - in my mind the 'e' and 'o' were the same size as the rest.

Madness was another one I used to doodle on my schoolbooks.
