New logo designed

What do you guys think of this logo, I haven't had much chance to ask around as it was done on a tight deadline.

It is for a small landscaping business.

It looks a little cluttered to me, to be honest. Perhaps some variation in color or shades to bring out the text more... but it is a nice idea though

Not being funny but how does a spade relate to lawn care?

Regardless, you still associate a spade with gardening and gardening with lawns...

Lawn Care is just the name, they do gardening services as well, plus it was the best I could think of for the 'A'.

Yeah I knew that, however I think that logos aren't ment to be read, just to be visualized and planted in the public's mind.

Thanks for the comments.

To be fair, I actually read it right away
However you might want to use a little less detail for simplicity's sake, and also when you client prints the logo on a small object a large quantity of the details will be lost/smuged...

I think it depends how the logo is going to be used.

Is it going on T-Shirts? for print? Letter heads, bus. cards etc..

A logo like this will be perfect for T-Shirts and things that have open space. But, for business cards and letter heads it will not work out due to the amount of space you can use.

good work though.

I think a logo must be sutable for all "carriers" (letter heads to t-shirts and billboards to promotional pens) I haven't seen a company useing a couple of different logos, depending on the objects that carry them...

In that case would you have a tennis ball as part of that logo?

Personally I think that the design is very nice. Maybe you should use a different shade of green for the spade and rake.

maybe a trowel would have been better instread of the spade, take up less vertical space... and more than one colour... besides that I think its a really nice logo.

Logo

Hey Dude,

Nice concept behind the logo, but as far as logo's go, for me anyway, the simpler the better. Look at apple, IBM and other large companines. Simple, iconic and referable.

I know its more work, but I prefer to do 2 logo's. A 1 colour logo, for print, letter heads, cards etc. One that makes the best use of one colour, using negative space etc. And I like to do another one with colour and depth for the web and misc use, like presentations etc.

Good luck with the client.
