Allright I've been thinking of a new version of mys site, and I just want to get it right this time.
So the best place to start would be a logo.

What do you guys think?
I'll be using it on b-cards and other promotional materials, too.

EDIT: probably the wrong question to ask on a Friday, too

Not thrilled about the funky background.

At the same time, it reminds me of Reading Rainbow.

"I can go anywhere, take a look, it's in a book, a reading rainbooow!"

http://pbskids.kids.us/program-readingrainbow.html

Loved that show when I was a kid.

yeah not liking the rainbow. Besides, rainbows aren't very random are they? Richard of York and all that.

whats the thought behind it?

@pat. In school we're taught UK English, but we're more exposed to American culture than British. (blame the TV and the internet for that) So it always feels easier to spell color, favorite, etc.
Thanks for the suggestion. I will try to lose the leg and even try another typeface, see if I like it more.

@gray. I didn't want it to sound design-esque. I wanted to imply the notion of colour, colorful. Plus I wanted it to have a feel of natural, non-artificial. If I ever get back to drawing I want it to feature my sketches too. There is a photo version I'm working on as we speak, and I will have also a writing section when I get more time. So it's pretty random.

Unless you're really hooked on it I'd try a different palette and start from there, it's not really doing anything for me...

I need to incorporate the romanian flag colours somehow. I think. I'll try something else as well

Hmm yeah the bottom two are feeling a bit 1980's Spectrum. Again I think it's the colours - though tthe typeface isn't helping on that front.

I prefer 2 and 3 cos the red doesnt look as washed out as it did on previous designs. However I do have to agree with andrewparker. You're capable of much better and I think you know that

I'd suggest to make the colour "bars" thicker - they seem (visually) thinner then the letters.
...and I'm talking about the latest variations...

But surely they cease to be the Romanian flag colours once you start using them in different tints...
