Hello to everyone, just thought i'd introduce myself. My name is Tony Easley, I'm in the final few weeks of a degree in illustration before I have to enter the big bad world of commercial illustration and I'd very much appreciate any feedback anyone wants to give. I'm about to redesign my website and it's not totally up to date but I'd love if everyone would take a look. nascentideas.com |

Thanks for looking, I realised recently that a lot of people are finding it hard to navigate so I'm going to try and sort it out before my degree show goes up. Which parts are you finding confusing? Anything that can help me pinpoint the worst spots would be helpful! |

try for a consistent navigation that stays fixed on every page. so wherever you are or how silly things get - you know you are on your site. doesn't have to be large. it can be a small simple row of text across the top oh. and if you have the likes of a pdf link - indicate that so people know what to expect. if you are starting from scratch. look at indexhibit... it's rather good! here's some samples.. i'm going to use that for my personal site... when i get a chance. |

Believe it or not, that was my attempt at a consistent navigation (once you get past the intro page, which WILL be going in the redesign), I think the navigation isn't obvious enough though, there are some text links on the left for the pages of thumbnails. I noticed on my site stats that most people don't go past the first page of thumbnails and it wasn't until I was looking at it with a tutor and he didn't see them, that I realised why. The blog will have to pretty much stay the same though for the moment as I don't have the money to pay for database hosting so it's hosted by wordpress which means limited control over the design! |

I took a look at indexhibit, I thought I recognised the name, Dan Eatock came in to talk to us and showed it to us, I can't run it though because it won't run on a windows server, which is a shame! |
