hi,

i have been asked to design three illustrations for three t-shirts and am unsure as to how much to charge ?
do i charge hourly rate or flat few per design ?
is £300 to little for each design ?

please can you help....

Depends on the size and detail of the design. My normal reat is about $110 and hour for illustration and shirt design.

I have trouble with this one too. I do a ton of t-shirts for one company, but maybe only half of the designs will be printed after they go through market research/focus groups - so I just charge by the hour now.

If you got to the AOI site (www-theaoi-dot-com) there is a section on pricing in the documents section under "AOI Report: Illustration Fees and Standards of Pricing 2007". If you have a look through them I'm sure there'll be t-shirt designs in there.

Depends how many you think they're gonna sell really, price accordingly. Also depends how long it takes you to complete an illustration.
