tattoo design vector style
i've been working for that personnal design for like 35 hours, yeah yeah its an insane amount of time, but when its for myself i'm very picky... I made a quick sketch for reference and started from scratch in illustrator. I'm gonna probably print it on a big canvas even if its expensive as hell. Tell me what you think of it! |

not really my kind of thing but quality work i have no idea what the going rates for one-off canvas prints is but perhaps deviant-art might be an idea, you dont have to have a paid subscription to offer prints anymore (not sure if thats all the way) so might be cheaper if you offfer it and buy it from yourself - worth a lookee anyway meh.

I like it, even the distressed halftone effect. I'd prefer it if the snake's tongue wasn't so long and crooked. And the cross on the snake's eye is cartoon shorthand for DEAD. With that crazy tongue hanging out, it's unintentionally funny. Maybe you could replace it with a more lifelike version (an apt pupil!) My free fonts www.utfi.net

nice work. are you going to get this tattoo done? if so you will not be happy with the artist doing the tattoos response. the design behind the snake will blur together over the years unless you get it the size of your entire back (info from sister who is a tattoo artist) |

Naa i'm not getting this tatooed, for an illustration its nice but for a tattoo its too much cartoony and its true the halftone dot would be a nightmare for the tattoo artist, to much small details... thanks for the comment and critique! |

Overall, that's a pretty nice style you've got going on. I do tend to agree with the comments about the tooth and eye though. One other thing, what does it look like without the highlights on the body of the snake, seems a bit too shiny/eel like at the moment. |

Its a mix of two layers, 1 - Halftone, very easy to do, tons of tutorial to do that in photoshop, there's no way to do it exactly like that in Illustrator (so far as i know...) then insanely boost the resolution to like 4000x4000 at 600 dpi for the trace bitmap in Illustrator to be effective. creates a lot of points but the circles are perfect. 2 - some basic ink spot traced in Illustrator |
