What's the beige thingy on her arm?

I can see the brown background through the guy's hair under the ear.

I liked the spiky style in your dog illustration, here it seems out of place as the image should evoke warmth and love, not aggressiveness.

Good eye, the background showing through the hair, was same on the photo, and the beige thingy if you care to know is the transparent dress piece that is over her arm.

I agree with the spiky style, but it saves time

cool. get the feeling of missing skin tones though, errm.. more depth in (supposed) shaded areas. and ye her arm looks a little too big?!
