10x maerk.
I have vector version of images yet.
Just search for program or tips to make next automatic.
Because such kind of complex images (with many details) need to be convert from raster to vector automatic.(it`s more expensive when they vectorizing by hand- what if you have 500 or 1000 images).
To coloring vector version of image- white holes should be shapes(not a trim parts of black)
This is the reason for my post and questions.
But not a big deal
Forget it
Many greetings!

Well I didn't understand what you were asking, if you use livetrace you dont need to delete any of the white, and you can expand/ungroup it and recolour however you wish.

If the images are higher resolution than those you posted so far, live trace is the way to go, and then some manual work on each, there's no magic program that'll just do absolutely tonnes of work for you like that I'm afraid.

If you are using Illustrator CS2 you can place the image into the Document. Select the object/image and click the live trace button in the bar at the top of the screen. You will have to play around with your settings to get the effect that you are looking for. This is the easiest way of creating vector work from raster that I know of.

spart,
I am looking for the same.

Have used Adobe Streamline for years to convert scanned b/w line drawings into vector format. As you say, after conversion, the white of the original drawing becomes shapes on a large black ground - move the edges of the shapes to alter 'line' thickness/quality etc..... freshness and variable line quality of the original drawing is retained - doesn't have the 'traced' look and happens with one simple menu option. I don't think Auto trace does this.

Any former Streamline users who know what can replace it and how?
