.ai to .pdf trouble

In illustrator, my artwork exceeds the boundaries of the canvas, but i assumed when i exported it to .pdf, it'd only export what's within the canvas. Instead, it's exported everything, so it prints alot smaller.

How do i make sure it only exports artwork and objects within the canvas?

Cheers (if you're around gray)

I'm afraid you'd have to trim whatever exceeds your page boundaries. I happened to run into the same problem a while ago, and couldn't find an other solution.

sorry, I'm not gray

draw a box the size of your page, select all the stuff, go to edit -> clipping mask -> create

Haven't got a copy in front of me to check what exact menu items are though...

remember to group your artwork first, the box must be above the grouped artwork (apple/ctr+]) then use the clipping mask (apple/ctrl+7)
