Any better alternative to PayPal..?

I know it's not exactly a cry for help, but does anyone know if there is a good alternative to PayPal? What annoys me about PayPal (as I think is probably the 'norm') is that possible customers have to be PayPal members in order to buy anything. The site I'm working on wants to attract casual buyers who might well be put off buying anything if they then have to trudge through a membership setup, or simply don't want to be a PayPal user. I know PayPal in the US allows people to purchase without having to join; so does the UK have any equivalent..?

protox, worldpay all do the same thing - although they are fairly ugly unless you pay them a fee.

fwiw, surveys show that the more options you offer, the more likely you will be to get a sale. you could also look into things like offering people to pay via their mobile phones.

Yeah, you're right if you use the US version of PayPal, but the UK one apparently hasn't got that function on it yet. Grr...

Supposedly PayPal streamlined the order process, but I haven't been through it as a non member to try it out.

Hm... I checked out Nochex, all looked good, and although they allow for non-members to buy goods, they only operate in the UK/accept UK credit and debit payments. Must... keep... looking...
