Design a Timeline Interface?
Hello, Anone out there fancy an opportunity to showcase your talents? I run/design/edit/write/manage a large non-profit site (http://www.trauma.org/) which educates medical professionals wround the world in the care of injured patients. So we're putting together a 'history of trauma' section which has a lot of content to go into it and will grow over the years as our members contribute snippets of info to it. I've put up a bit of test content at: http://www.trauma.org/history/ However - quite clearly the interface sucks. Anyone got any great ideas for how to successfully implement a timeline like this? Doesn't have to be in the same format. No pop-up windows please. I was thinking about two scrolling layers but I have neither the time nor the expertise to pull of something professional. If anyone fancies a crack at this I think it's an interesting design puzzle, and would be a permanent testament to your art, design & technical skill! Thanks Karim |

Flash interface baaad? Why - medical professionals are all thick?? You could be right. If it's small enough though? What more information do you need? The basic structure is as you see it. Ideally the interface would not only show the linear time line, but also allow you to connect various themes - like military surgery, history of resuscitation etc etc. This might be too complicated though. Making what's there clearer & more usable would be a good start. K |
