Help with Graphic Design

I was looking through monc.se's site the other day, and at their portfolio.
I really like the leaf/branch graphics they use in the banner of their oceanen site: http://www.monc.se/portfolio/oceanen/0204.htm (scroll across)

But how do i do it!! (sounds ignorant i know). I'll get hold of photoshop again because i lost it for ages....=/

Could always take a photo of a house with a fancy front gate and do an illustrated silhoutte of an area of it.

Alternatively you could take pen to paper and start drawing your own.

or

Try going to a stock photo site and getting some images of the plant/metal work and get some ideas.

Theres always more then one way of overcoming a problem.

Wallpaper sites would be another good place to go (as that is where a lot of this stuff originates - arts n crafts, art nouveau etc - we 'heart' William Morris.

Nothing wrong with a bit of ding-bat action sometimes.

Liked the 'fleuron' ding off those links. it shizzles my nizzle.
